Background: Windsor is, beyond shadow of a doubt, Nottingham's town. He was born here, he was raised here, and he intends to die here -- after a very long and prosperous run, of course. Nottingham was born in the local general hospital one wet, slushy day in mid January. His mother was a socialite, and his father was the mayor, so Nottingham grew up in a very prestigious, very well-connected family. He's been told that the governor came to his fifth birthday party, although he doesn't remember.
Nottingham's father was a very genuinely good man, and during his terms as mayor of Windsor, many political and social reforms were put in place. It was clear that Nottingham was going to be expected to follow in his father's footsteps. As he continued through his education, Nottingham began to realize that, unlike his father, he had no taste for self sacrifice. He could not for the life of him understand why anyone would give of themselves to help others. He had always been a sullen, quiet sort of boy, but in high school, Nottingham began to deepen, withdrawing further into his own head to plot.
Instead of going through with college, Nottingham made the decision to attend the police academy instead. It suited his purposes perfectly. On the outside, he was still the golden child, doing his best to serve his beloved hometown, while in reality, Nottingham was gaining respect at the business end of a gun, taking control of neighborhoods and crime circles. He always managed to keep his own hands clean, due to some careful manipulation of local youths. Amongst them was Guy Gisborne, who became a favorite of Nottingham's, to the point where Nottingham even managed to get him through police academy as well, keeping him on to work under the table for him and his agenda.
Somewhere along the way, Nottingham got promoted all the way to Chief of Police, and picked out a beautiful young woman to marry. She's a bit of a socialite herself, and fairly younger than Nottingham, but the date is set and fast approaching. Between the wedding, the constant struggle with the ethnic gangs in the area, and his own growing feeling that something is going wrong, Nottingham is fast approaching a breaking point.
Personality: Nottingham is cold. He is calculating. He is dangerously smart, dangerously logical, and dangerously without a moral code. Right and wrong have no real meaning to him. There is only what will he gain from, and what will he not gain from. What will be worth it in the long run, and what won't. He's outwardly very mild mannered, quiet and respectful, but if you manage to cross him any way, Nottingham's quiet personality suddenly becomes silently imposing, glares like daggers shot in your direction. There is something about the way he carries himself that suggests he knows what it means to kill a man, and does not care.
Important Details: Engaged to be married. The wedding is stressing him out, more than he'd like to admit. Actually really does love Windsor very very much. He'd just like it more if he owned everything and everyone.
